New Gift Baskets

So I started to put together some new gift baskets and gift packs. Last Christmas they did very well, so I am sure this Christmas they will do better.

So far I have made a White Tea & Ginger pack, a Blackberry Vanilla pack, Spearmint Eucalyptus, and Lavender.

I love making gift baskets! I like to see just how many things I can get to fit in them!

And these 2 packs I have pictures of are beautiful boxes too!

NEW DELIVERY TODAY!!

I cannot wait to see the UPS truck pull up to my house today! I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting deliveries!

Today, I am expecting 150 bath tea bags and 5 lbs. of Ivory colored crinkle paper for my gift baskets. Why would I be so excited about this you ask? Because I thought I had bath tea bags so I made bath tea on Thursday only to discover what I thought were bath tea bags wound up to be heat seal paper......which I have no idea what to do with that now!

AND.......I am anxious to get my gift baskets put together, take pictures, and get them listed on Etsy. This summer has not been so great for sales, but Christmas is coming! My last 2 Christmas seasons have been absolutely GREAT in terms of revenue!

So now I wait and look out the window every 2 minutes.......

Today is my 2 year wedding anniversary!

My husband has been such a great support of everything I have done. I started making soap shortly after we met and I could see in his eyes that he didn't *get* the whole idea, but he told me that if this is what I want to do, then he was 100% behind me. I tried to make a coffee based soap about a year ago, and it was a miserable failure, yet John said if I wanted to put it in the cabinet, he would use it. (I threw it away) When my sugar scrubs were making me crazy because I couldn't get them quite right, John used them and used them and gave me his opinion of them even though I had to talk long and hard to get him to try them because he kept saying "That's girl stuff", he eventually came around!

I am grateful for my husband today!

Blog Feature

Tomorrow, on August 2, my etsy shop www.etsy.com/tiedyebathworks is going to be featured on http://nomieecowear.blogspot.com along with a give away. I took some time tonight to take a look at her blog and suddenly, this blogging thing did not seem so difficult to do. Not to make it sound like she has a breeze with her beautiful blog, but I see the concept behind it and it doesn't seem like martian language to me anymore.

Now....off to blog!

Soapy Salt Scrubs!

I had been trying different formulas to make sugar scrub cubes (made with glycerin soap, oil, and sugar). Once I found my perfect formula for that, I thought I would try it with salt for a more vigorous scrub. However, apparently salt doesn't work the same way because it never got solid enough to cut into squares, but it is still a great scrub.

I'm thinking of packaging these in canning jars to have 9 oz. in each jar and see how they go.

I'll post pictures later on today.
